Originally scheduled for September 26th 2020, this exhibition had to be postponed due to the current Covid-19 pandemic. This site is acting as a preview of the exhibition, which will be shown in the Leo Freedman Gallery at California State University, Fullerton, at a later date.
The exhibition will showcase 200 years of artifacts relating to the evolution of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow in popular culture. You can browse some of those artifacts on this site.
Delve into the history behind the Legend. Learn about the tale's author, Washington Irving, visit the real town of Sleepy Hollow, and see how the Horseman and Halloween have become intrinsically linked to one another.
Artists, illustrators and designers have created work just for this anniversary exhibition. These original works, including prints, will be available for purchase at the exhibition.
